Ram, in 1980s handled export business of Koç Group.
In those days, with 20 employees in our export group we had only “one land-line” for handling all operations.
In the absence of fax machine, computers and internet communication we had type writers who used to type the instructions again and again to banks, to customs and to other government offices and we had to hand deliver these letters to recepients.
We had one employee in charge of handling all photocopy work of our company.
A telex machine was our communication vehicle to send our business messages,
We had to take all documents for approval to Chamber of Commerce via a rowing boat at Golden Horn because that day all roads where closed.
We had to request the help of a Captain in person in order to send a very urgent document to its destination.
