Our Story

We were established with the name Ram Foreign Trade Inc. as a Koç Holding company.


As the “foreign trade school” of the country, we’ve been diligently working with to make major contributions to Turkey’s exports for more than 50 years.


We took our experience and knowledge with us so we can move forward to always be one step ahead of the sector; we continue to be the leader with our dynamic structure.


Aiming to be the best with a customer-oriented work strategy, prioritizing human resources, making work ethics and honesty a “must” condition, and being a world player that is aware of its strong contributions to the country are our fundamental values.

1970

Ram Foreign Trade Inc. was established.

1973 – 1977

Charter sea freight was carried out.

1979

We entered new markets in the Middle East. Transportation of fresh fruits, vegetables, cereals and legumes were carried out for the first time. .

1981

Export activities started in new markets from automotive to industrial products, from textiles to apparel, from fresh fruits and vegetables to dry food.

1982

By exporting the goods of non-community companies in addition to the goods of Koç Holding and its own, Ram became one of the biggest export companies in Turkey.

1983

Exports of textile products to the United States as well as iron and steel exports to Iran began.

Credit bottleneck was eliminiated by creating financing opportunities for manufacturers.

Iran Office began to operate.

1984

By establishing a Comecon import-export group, imports from these countries started.

Algeria Office opened.

We partnered with Ramerica company.

1985

Transit trade began.

1986

Ram-Deutschland company was established to engage in commercial activities.

1987

Hungary offices were opened as a part of the company structure abroad.

1988

Ram France company was established.

1989

We partnered with the British company Arnes.

The company name was later changed to Beko (UK) Ltd.

1995

In addition to RAMTORG in Moscow and TASHKOCAUTO in Tashkent, RAM & KOFISA PACIFIC LTD. in Hong Kong started operations.

Ram Insurance Agency Services Inc. was founded and Ram Exports Inc. became a founding partner.

1996

Migros supermarket chain opened to foreign markets under the name “Ramstore.”

The first “Ramstore” went into service in Baku, Azerbaijan.

1997

Partnership with Ram-Enka Ltd. operating in the supermarket sector in Russian city of Moscow was actualized.

Two partnerships, Ram Auto Ltd. on automotive marketing in Baku, Azerbaijan and Set Auto Ltd. on car rental services in Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan were established.

1998

Importation and domestic sales for plastic and paper work units were activated.

Imports and distributorship agreement was signed with Ford Motor Co. USA.

Ram Auto Almaty, an automotive marketing company was incorporated in Kazakhstan.

In Moscow, second store of “Ramstore” and shopping mall were opened.

Ram-Henkel Ltd. companies were put into service in Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan in 1998.

1999

SamKoçAuto Factory, which was formed by Koç Group and Uzavtosanoat to manufacture midibus and trucks, was officially launched.

Ram Man Food Trading Corporation was formed in partnership with ED&F, an English firm.

In Poland, participated in Beko Polska S.A. company with 25 % of the shares.

Tunusdan S.A. company, which Ram holds 5 % of the shares was launched in Tunisia to produce refrigerators.

Ramstore was inaugurated in Khazakstan with Butya partnership.

2000

Foreign Trade Group initiated and organized the formation of TNT Logistics and Delivery Services Inc. in partnership with TNT Post Group.

2001

130 Ford Cargo trucks were sold to Uzbekistan and 522 Otokar armored vehicles were sold to Algeria.

Sales contracts for 200 Fruehauf fuel trucks, 250 thousand Aygaz cylinder gas alongside sales of televisions and compressors were signed with Iraq.

35 thousand water heaters were exported to Egypt.

2003

We have become Boeing’s Central Asia Representative.

2004

As part of restructuring process shares of Ram Foreign Trade Inc.’s affiliates were transferred.

2005

230 Ford Cargo trucks and 100 Ford Transit ambulances were sold to Iraq.

2006

Won a tender for superstructure vehicle category and became supplier of United Nations.

2008

Exportation of unleaded fuel to Iraq has begun.

2009

Exportation of diesel for a period of 2 years to Iraq has begun.

Fresh fruits were imported from Central and South America.

2011

A new contract was signed with Iraq to dispatch petroleum products and shipments started.

Exportation of automotive and automotive parts to Algeria and neighboring countries was continued.

2012

111 Ford Cargo superstructure trucks were sold to Iraq.

As for aviation industry a contract was signed with American Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation to serve in handling and after-sale services for civil and military projects in Turkic Republics.

2013

172 Ford Cargo trucks were exported to Turkmenistan.

An agreement was made with Borçelik Inc.to widen Koç Group’s scope of supply of flat steel products and merchandizing started from 2. quarter.

In addition to Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan representations after-sales service agreements were signed with Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation.

2014

RAM has become United Nations agencies’ supplier for Turkey and abroad.

Won the minibus tender funded by European Union.

135 Ford Transit minibusses were delivered to 77 provincial directorates of Ministry of Family and Social Policies of Turkey.

Representation activities for Boeing and Sikorsky were continued and first delivery of Boeing 787 Dreamliner, a trailblazer for aviation industry, was made to Azerbaijan.

2015

Won a tender initiated by US Ministry of Defense for Iraq.

Scope of Iron/Steel business was enlarged by starting imports from Tata Steel.

2016

A long term contract was signed with UN.

2018

Won the vehicle supply tenders initiated by United Nations agencies with the purpose of donation to public enterprises in Turkey and deliveries of mobile operations centers and mobile nurseries were made.
